The Black Lion Cottage

The working title of my new book is ‘The Black Lion Cottage’ set in and around the old town of Brighton.

Once a human Derek Carver’s spirit is caught between the past, present and future.

In the 1540’s Derek was a brewer by trade and owned a cottage in Black Lion Lane in Brighton before he was burned alive in Lewes. His final words were: “Lord have mercy upon me, for unto thee I commend my spirit and my soul doth rejoice in thee!” Derek, the first Martyr of Sussex, just 40 years old, died at the stake in Lewes July 22nd 1555.

In 2018 the Black Lion Cottage is being rented out as a holiday-let. The guests who are staying over are caught up in supernatural experiences.

Will Derek’s spirit ever rest?
