I’m pleased to announce that I’m currently working on a new book. It’s going to be a cookbook for coeliacs and everyone else who love Mediterranean Cuisine.
Perhaps the world’s healthiest diet in the world is the Mediterranean Cuisine. The diet mainly consists of fruits, nuts, vegetables, legumes and olive oil. It also features fish and poultry over red meat. The Mediterranean diet has no preservatives. It is freshly picked, plucked and cooked.
I was diagnosed with Coeliac disease in 2013 and until then I loved eating all kinds of food including pasta and bread. I’m the cook at home and switching over to a gluten free diet was a learning curve at first but can be relatively easy to adapt to.
The Mediterranean Cuisine is great for coeliacs as it based on fresh food and doesn’t include additives. You know exactly what goes into your food. The Mediterranean cuisine also consists of wheat based food such as pasta, couscous, pizzas and pitta breads which all contain gluten. Coeliacs will need to substitute these with gluten free products.
The book will contain a large selection of authentic naturally gluten free recipes originating from countries such as Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Portugal, Sardinia and Spain. The focus is on appetisers, salads, dips, meals and desserts. The good thing is… all recipes have been tried out at home!
I’ll keep you posted about the progress of this special book.
