CreateSpace and KDP to Become One Service

CreateSpace and Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) are becoming one service making KDP the single place to publish and manage print and digital books.

Amazon has announced that its print-on-demand platforms CreateSpace and Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) will merge. I’m sure many authors saw it coming. CreateSpace have been printing my books since 2013 and I’m in the process of moving my books to Kindle Direct Publishing.

Authors who use CreateSpace will see a notice when they log into their account and are being asked to move their books from CreateSpace to KDP. Amazon has launched a new help page on the KDP website to explain how the merger will affect authors.

CreateSpace started as a DVD and CD production service. CreateSpace was acquired by Amazon in 2005 and later took on print-on-demand services. Amazon launched KDP in July 2016 and opened for a public beta test early last year.
